News!!!!

Wow. Well, I know it has been quite awhile since I have updated this blog but that's all for good reason. In the last 8 weeks the members of the Tanner family has welcomed our little baby Isabel, moved to Southern California, traveled to Texas, San Diego, and Laguna Beach, started a new job, started new wards, etc.

The best of all the news is that Isabel Duchicela XXX Tanner arrived, October 20, 2007 at 2:35pm. She is a mutton (that is what I call her because she reminds me of a big slab of lamb meat). Isabel makes me happy. She's a very alert, cute, happy baby. She fusses and cries but is, generally, calm, smily, and hungry.

My new job is a challenge but exciting. I'm the administrator for Lake Balboa Care Center in the San Fernando Valley. I like the management aspects that job provides and am happy to have the opportunity I do.

What I really like about the job is the perks. Ima and I were able to go to the Montage in Laguna Beach yesterday for the Christmas party. What a treat. The picture is from that getaway. It was the first time Ima had slept through the night in over 7 weeks.

What a mom, wife, sister, sister in law, daughter, friend, etc. Ima is. She consistently amazes me with all her abilities but does not leave me surprised. I knew she was great at pretty much everything did. That's one of the reasons I married her! Marry greatness.

Anyway, I'll be more diligent about updating the blog. Merry Christmas!

Voter Fraud

Well, I thought our website would be immune to it but I guess that is the nature of our political climate these days. It seems as if someone has changed the votes for Isabel's middle name. Before we left for Ima's doctor's appointment today there were 44 votes. When we returned there were twelve. It looks like we're going to have to get the lawyer's to figure out the voting - in the meantime we'll keep the poll up there for people to vote as they see fit.

Getting ready for baby

I've noticed that while a baby doesn't come with manuals, most manuals that come with babies aren't really that helpful either. This Saturday Ima and I tried to put our carseat in the back with little success. It felt as if we were trying to complete a rubix cube rather than trying to tie down a hunk of plastic with some metal buckles. Anyway, with trying to put together cribs, figure out strollers, and buying the "special smelly bags," for our diaper genie I feel like I'm going to be doing a lot more of the learning than the teaching in these next few years. I guess that's the way it's suppossed to be.

P.S. When I finish these blogs with a little Eric life philosophy I feel like my good friend and mentor, Dr. Doogie Howser.

Golfing in Half Moon Bay

A few days ago I was able to go golfing at the Ocean Course in Half Moon Bay. The course literally sits at the foot of the ocean next door to the Ritz Carlton. It's by far the best course that I have played up here in the Bay Area. I'm actually growing quite fond of the game of golf. There's so much that you can do to get better. It seduces you into thinking that you're getting the hang of it when you hit a 300 yard drive right down the middle but smacks you down as you confidently walk up to your drive and spray your 80 yard wedge shot all over the course. Anyway, the golf was great...we'll see how much I get to continue golfing when Isabel comes along. Maybe she'll want to pick up the game later in life and play with me. Copy and paste the link below to see more pictures of the day.

Ima's First Blog...Ever

Eric is very proud of this blog site he made, and is anxious for me to write something...anything. We are looking forward to Isabel's birth. I have my anxieties, but I also feel immense anticipation and happiness. I'm sure Eric will let you all know how the labor and delivery goes when the time comes.

Our First Post

Hello All,
